The Choir was formed by Douglas Lawrence in 1982. It sings each week in the college chapel, presents a major concert series each year and fulfils an ever increasing number of engagements for bodies such as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Musica Viva, the Melbourne Concert Hall and regional music organisations. The choir has also toured in New Zealand, Europe and South East Asia.

Most of the members are current or past residents of Ormond College.

There are twenty two singers in the choir - eight sopranos, four altos, four tenors and six basses. The choir, which was the first from Australia to achieve ongoing international ecognition, is now directed by John O'Donnell.
