HOHLER FELS: NEW MUSIC FOR FLUTE
KARIN DE FLEYT

The title track of this album is named after the celebrated Hohle Fels caves in Germany, in which have been found the oldest flutes ever discovered. Paul Goodey's Concerto is a modern classic for orchestra and no less than four flutes. Also here we have a complex work for two flutes and two clarinets and a typically 'out-of-the-box' piece by Christopher Fox for solo alto flute, giving us a well balanced program of new music in which Karin de Fleyt can demonstrate her virtuosity in both traditional and advanced performance techniques.

In the Concerto, Karin de Fleyt is accompanied by the RNCM Wind Orchestra conducted by Mark Heron.

In the Gehlhaar work we welcome Peter Merckx (alto and bass clarinets) and Jakob Fichert (piano)
