A SHROPSHIRE LAD
BLAKE FISCHER (baritone); CLAIRE COOPER (piano)

Blake Fischer is an award-winning singer from Australia, who with his accompanist Claire Cooper won the Song Recital Award in 1998. This is a lovely CD, mainly of English song, by three of the masters of the genre; also included are some traditional American songs in arrangements by Aaron Copland. A fine recital.

Compare Butterworth's settings of Housman with those of John Williamson and FInzi's of Shakespeare with those of John Jeffreys, all avaialble on Diversions and Dunelm (see catalogs)
